A Curriculum That Connects Learning to Life
Semester-long courses (8-10 weeks) are designed to build communication skills progressively over time. Students move through a structured course pathway that addresses everyday communication, friendship-building, and professional interaction. Classes emphasize practical application through small-group activities and real-world scenarios, allowing Students to build communication skills needed to advocate for themselves, engage meaningfully with others, and participate more fully in their communities.
Expert Instruction and Individualized Support
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologists with expertise in speech, language, and social communication lead these classes. Buddy volunteers from The Ohio State University Department of Speech and Hearing reinforce instruction, provide encouragement, and facilitate meaningful participation. Together, this team creates a supportive environment for Students to practice new skills and grow as communicators.
Communication for Life is currently only offered in Columbus, OH. Check with our Columbus chapter for specific class times and session details!
