Our volunteers (we call them Buddies) are at the heart of every Buddy Up program! We are always looking for passionate individuals to encourage, engage, and empower our Athletes and Students.
No prior experience is needed. The most important qualities are a positive attitude, patience, and a willingness to help others succeed.
Buddies are paired one-to-one with an Athlete or Student and play an active role in helping them participate, learn, and grow throughout each session. Buddy Bootcamp training teaches volunteers how to adapt their level of support to meet individual needs while fostering confidence and independence. While Buddies make a meaningful impact on their partner, many find the experience is just as rewarding and inspiring for themselves.
We welcome volunteers ages 14 and up. Our Buddies come from high schools, college clubs, sports teams, local businesses, and other organizations throughout the communities we serve.
The background check takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and costs $20. Results are typically returned within 3-10 business days.
