Since moving to Ohio in March, Erin Zimpfer has been all in with Buddy Up for Life. Between Health & Wellness clinics, Life Skills classes, and special events, she stays busy and active throughout the week.

Erin participates in Buddy Up Pickleball on Thursdays, an activity that is already proving to be beneficial, according to her mother Trisha Zimpfer.

“The structure and all the repetitions have really helped her,” Trisha said. “She’s usually not big on moving towards the ball—she normally lets it come to her—but I’ve seen improvement in just a short time.”

Trisha expressed excitement and gratitude for Buddy Up for Life. “It’s so cool,” she said. “We’ve lived all across the country and have never experienced an organization that’s designed just for people with Down syndrome.”

“Between Beth [Gibson] and all of the Instructors and Coaches, everyone has been so wonderful and welcoming,” Trisha continued. “We love it.”

Erin plans on taking more classes. She is enrolled in Communication for Life this fall, and is looking at trying Technology for Life.

“I’d also like to get her into a Cooking for Life class,” said Trisha. “She lives for food, and I think she’d have a lot of fun.”
