LET’S BE SAFE!
Safety for Life class is a first aid class designed to teach Students with Down syndrome (ages 14+) different steps to take when they are faced with an ailment. Using hands-on and interactive teaching methods, Students will leave Safety for Life First Aid with the tools and toolbox to solve many illness related challenges that come their way. Class is taught by a nurse and a special educator. Buddy Volunteers help to individualize the activities to make the simulations as applicable as possible to the Students’ everyday lives.
- Prerequisite: Students must be able to read and follow multi step instructions.
